I like this place so much! It’s well organized and such a wonderful location to visit with family and friends. I participated in the Pottery class offered in the mornings. Ms. Maia was an excellent instructor and very personable! She gave clear instructions and was able to help each step of the way. We made a small bowl on the wheel and were able to pick from a wide variety of glaze colours. Take note that it will take 1 week for your bowl to be ready as the kiln process does take time. This experience was an amazing birthday gift from a close friend! So grateful for the experience.

What a lovely zoo! We went right when it opened and it was very peaceful. It’s very clean and well kept, all of the animals seemed to be very relaxed and happy. We ended up walking around the loop twice and that gave us an opportunity to see some of the animals that were still sleeping when we first showed up. We will come back if we are in the area again!

We stopped in on a whim because it was something FREE to do on our trip here, and it was better than some paid museums we’ve visited! The guide Eric was very knowledgeable and willing to share info on all of the items in there from sea creatures & wildlife, to the schoolhouse & local history, to WW2 artifacts. If you really take the time to stop and look, there is a lot to see in this little schoolhouse ☺️

I cannot say enough about the stunning wedding my daughter experienced in May 2022 at the Swift-Coles Historic Home. The backdrop of the beautiful trees, landscape and of course the historic home in the pictures is amazing. Katherine Graham provides the event planning at Swift-Coles. Katherine took the time to understand the vision my daughter had for her wedding and transformed it into “real life”.. The most beautiful wedding she could have ever imagined. Thanks Katherine.. if there were more stars I would give them.

Excellent museum, friendly and informative staff, looks small outside, but inside, the space was well used displaying a larger than expected amount of interesting historical photos, artifacts, and stories. Well worth our time, learned a lot about the region’s history, life, and formative forces. Beautiful butterfly garden as well!

The arcade is pretty fun! We (me, my husband and step son) enjoyed both the putt putt courses. The staff is super nice. I really have no complaints. All around a great place for kids and adults. They also have Go-Karts, bumper boats and a roller coaster!

This is definitely one of the reasons we bought the house – be sure to bring water, and it’s nice to rent bikes to get to see more of the trail!

USA Today recently named the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail the best recreational trail in the country for 2023. The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is an award-winning 28+ mile paved trail system that takes visitors throughout the 6,150 acres of Gulf State Park, and there are several access points right down the road from the house.

One of the main reasons we bought Whiskey Sands was the proximity to the Gulf State Park. It’s so beautiful, and natural. Lots of trails and paths for bikes, walking and golf carts.

Owa Parks & Resort has 23+ rides in the Tropic Falls theme park, and pedestrian only streets of Downtown OWA. Wide range of entertainment and events, adventures like Gravity Island Watersports, restaurants shops and more.

This is the closest public beach access to Whiskey Sands, at Romar Beach. There are many access points in the area, linked here. It’s an easy walk but probably easier to drive with all of your beach gear.
